Claremont Polymer Shapes is pleased to now offer transparent, flexible, STRIP CURTAINS for doors and enclosures,
providing an easily installed, low-cost and long-lasting solution to plants suffering from intrusion by weather, dust,
fumes and noise. They are ideal for loading docks, interior plant passages, personnel doors and, in particular,
freezers. Rounded edges reduce snagging, while the overlapping concave/convex configuration allows strips to interlock
when hung, forming an excellent seal and reducing heat loss. In the case of Low-Temp and Extra Low-Temp grades,
continued flexibility of the material at lower temperatures becomes a key factor in reducing the energy costs
associated with cooling and dehumidifying. STRIP CURTAINS offered by Claremont Polymer Shapes allow for easy
passage of people, products and/or vehicles, automatically and correctly re-orienting itself once the obstruction has
passed.
Most grades of STRIP CURTAIN are manufactured from a USDA approved material, and are available in a variety of
thicknesses from 0.060 inch to 0.160 inch, and in widths from 6 inches to 16 inches.
Standard Strip
Manufactured from a USDA approved material, Standard Strip is most commonly used in indoor/outdoor applications,
and functions at temperatures ranging from -18°C to 65°C (0°F to 150°F).
Low Temp Strip
Manufactured from a USDA approved material, Low Temp Strip is available in three configurations: smooth non-reinforced,
smooth with reinforcement, or ribbed. The material is suitable for use in freezers and in exterior applications, at
temperatures as low as -34°C (-30°F).
Extra-Low Temp Strip
Manufactured from a USDA approved material with a special Extra-Low Temp formulation, this strip is designed for use in
freezers operating at temperatures as low as -51°C (-60°F).
Safety Strip
Safety Strip is produced in a translucent grade of fluorescent ("safety") orange. This product can be used to outline
hazardous and/or high traffic areas, and can be used to guide forklift and pallet truck operators to the doors edge,
thus reducing the potential for wall damage.
Anti-Static
Anti-Static strip reduces the tendency for dust to accumulate in plants where grinding, sanding and other similar operations produce large quantities of particulates.
Ribbed Strip
Standard, Low Temp and Safety Strip are also available with a unique triangular rib configuration. The softly rounded ribbed surfaces help reduce scratching from truck and cargo traffic, and the friction and static electricity associated with smooth strips. The ribbing on both sides creates small air pockets for additional insulation and allows the strips to move apart easily as traffic passes through. It also facilitates longer wear life in high traffic areas.
MOUNTING OPTIONS
Several standard door mount styles are available from which to choose to suit your specific plant needs. Based upon your opening size, Claremont Polymer Shapes can supply all of the necessary cut-to-length, pre-punched strips and mounting hardware to allow you to install the door.
Surface Mount
|
Uses:
Doorways where a tight seal is required. The Surface Mount fastens flush over the opening providing maximum seal.
Dimensional Requirements:
Width and height of door opening. Ensure there is a minimum of 6-inches clearance over the door and 3-inches on each side. Ensure wall will support the weight of the STRIP CURTAIN.
Ordering Requirements:
Width and height of finished STRIP CURTAIN. Grade, thickness and width of strip material. Overlap of strips.
|
Angle Mount
|
Uses:
Doorways where no space is available for Surface Mount. The Angle Mount fastens inside the lintel of the door opening.
Dimensional Requirements:
Width and height of door opening. Ensure lintel will support the weight of the STRIP CURTAIN.
Ordering Requirements:
Width and height of finished STRIP CURTAIN. Grade, thickness and width of strip material. Overlap of strips.
|
Off-Wall Mount
|
Uses:
When overhead door tracks interfere with the mounting of either a Surface or Angle Mount.
Dimensional Requirements:
Width and height of door opening. Outside width of overhead door tracks. Ensure inside wall at the side and top of the overhead door will support the weight of the STRIP CURTAIN. Ensure a minimum of 12-inches of projection from the wall (for mounting hardware) will not interfere with operation of the overhead door.
Ordering Requirements:
Width, height and projection of finished STRIP CURTAIN. Grade, thickness and width of strip material. Overlap of strips.
|
Sliding Mount
|
Uses:
When temporary removal of the STRIP CURTAIN is required.
Dimensional Requirements:
Width and height of door opening. Ensure there is 12-inches of clearance above the door and enough clearance on one side of the door opening to slide STRIP CURTAIN out of the way. Wall above door opening must be able to support the weight of the STRIP CURTAIN and the track.
Ordering Requirements:
Width and height of finished STRIP CURTAIN. Track length. Grade, thickness and width of strip material. Overlap of strips.
|
Two-Way Swing Mount
|
Uses:
When temporary removal of the STRIP CURTAIN is required and there is not enough room on either side of the door to accommodate a Sliding Mount. (Two-Way Swing Mount has a pull-cord activated centre latching mechanism.)
Dimensional Requirements:
Width and height of door opening. Ensure jambs of door opening will support the weight of the STRIP CURTAIN and brackets.
Ordering Requirements:
Width and height of finished STRIP CURTAIN. Grade, thickness and width of strip material. Overlap of strips.
